I guess the three of us are 0.66% each then.

Though I never expected to see Argentina with more than 0.1% of the total. I'll be visiting the site more just to buff up that number! :)

You've turned a funny post into some pointless childish competition between countries. Each time you post that rubbish, Ron kills a three-headed monkey.

Petruza, as an Spanish speaker, I'm ashamed of you.

Posted by Petruza on Mar 28, 2008 twenty past one pm

Abelo, it is only a joke, do you think I can be proud of Argentina having more visitors than other countries?
Besides the post is all about countries and ranks, what would you want to talk about?

And I'm really deeply concerned about you being ashamed of me. Really. A lot. Tons of.

Im from Argentina, and the harsh language and behaviour of my fellow... idiots here, is beacuse of the typical brain damage due to the lack of food on the first years of life. For a moment I felt proud. After reading those posts, I whished that 2% be less...

But yeah, those adventures signed a generation of people here.

Posted by Sam on Mar 28, 2008 twenty five past four pm

Man, I was proud of being from Argentina until I read you. In fact I'm the least patriotic person you'll ever see, but fellow countrymen united in love for Monkey Island and Ronzo was something to be proud of. Until you Mr.boring here, came without a freaking sense of humor (yes, cheap sense of humor, but hey, everyone else got it).
You can't even properly spell "BECAUSE", you are not worthy of the PIE. Get out of here, majareta.

My regards to all the international pals who did spoke on their own languages.

Great, now I've got the doubt: did MI get translated to chinese/japanese/indian (??) or any eastern languaje?

Posted by Grant Yeager on Mar 31, 2008 half past three pm

MI1 was translated into japanese for at least two different platforms: FM-Towns and Sega Mega CD. Im not sure about indian, chinese is a possibility but from what ive seen most chinese releases of smi are actually english with Chinese manuals and packaging. There is a chinese translation of CMI that i am aware of but within the context i guess that doesn't completely count. There was also a Japanese Macintosh release of MI2 which leads me to believe that there is a Japanese Dos/v or PC-98 counterpart.

Hmm,that reminds me, this wasnt really a question about the breadth of the translated releases, just if they were :P Darn collecting obsessions, lol

Posted by RazorBlade79 on Mar 29, 2008 six am

Haha these kind of posts always have the potential to create flamewars, or in other words INTERNET (think italic)

By the way if you are a statistics man, try to calculate the percentage of the population of said countries compared to visitors (that way germany would probably be #1 :P ) This was a competition, wasn't it? ;)

Yay for Argentine grumpy gamers!

Posted by Lemonhead on Mar 29, 2008 twenty five past seven am

Well I think it is no mystery that Swedes (and other northeners) love old adventure games, think of it:
1. Conversations: We don't talk much. To have a couple of choices instead of limitless possibilities to say anything is extremely relaxing to us.
2. Subtitling: Text instead of speach is second nature to us. Thats how we have been wathing movies and TV for decades.
3. The pace. What can i say, we're not an actionpacked people.
4. The puzzles, we're good at them.
5. We're mostly grumpy, just like Ron.

Posted by Pandan on Mar 29, 2008 twenty to eight am

Posted by Pandan on Mar 29, 2008 quarter past nine am

Good enough!

Posted by Tobias on Mar 29, 2008 twenty past nine am

The lower list most likely is incorrect. (Or I am.) Germany has a population of about 80 million people while the US has about 300 million people. So the US has about 3.75 times more inhabitants as Germany.

As the upper list states that 28% of the visitors are from the US and 15% are from Germany, Germany should be above the US in the lower list. The number of German visitors is about two times bigger than the number of US visitors relative to the countries' populations.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am connecting from Israel, but I go through a company proxy in Germany.
Therefore, I kindly ask you to transfer 1 person in the breakdown from Germany to Israel and adjust the pie chart accordingly.
I believe that the Germans will not raise any problems with this change, because they are still trying to compensate for the past.

I for myself, don't give a shit about my country's past. I wasn't even living at that time. Why should someone feel guilty for his or her ancestors?

Otherwise I should've to feel bad all day for all crimes of humanity against humanity, since I don't care much for national borders .We're all humans, right?

sincerly,
some german that is pissed of bein told that his ancestors sucked ass

This comment was brought to you by a little meaningless spot in Germany. Me, the incredible Bravopunk.

Well, second best is close to ideal. So, I'm proud seeing my home country Germany on 2nd place.
Has a lot to do with the great german translation of the old Lucasarts- Games, especially the Monkey Island games and Day of the Tentacle.
Thanks to Heinrich "Heini" Lenhardt and Boris "Doc Bobo" Schneider, who've done a great work.
If you need a translator for your DeathSpank- Project, call me :)

Temo decirte Ron, que yo jugué a tu juego con una copia ilegal.

Como lo hicimos el 100% de los Argentinos por los 90´s.

Luego, algunos compramos el original... pero SABELO, fotocopiamos los discos de seguridad :D

Posted by Murderous_Tree on May 13, 2008 twenty five past four pm

You know, I bet Ron doesn't speak all those languages his games are translated into...
